      Vikramarkudu          -

It is not always that a film manages to surpass the expectations that it creates. Ravitheja, director SS Rajamouli and the entire team of ‘Vikramarkudu’ deserves a big round of applause for this achievement!

Honestly, there is nothing new about the story. It’s the presentation that has made this a thorough entertainer.

Ravitheja plays dual roles in the film- a petty thief and an honest cop who is forced to go into hiding when he ends up making powerful enemies.

Attilisathi Babu is a small-time thief and crook who is crazy about acts of daredevilry. But one day, he gets the shock of his life when a young girl turns up and claims that he is her father! After recovering from the stunning blow, he slowly starts to find out the truth behind the claim. It turns out that the girl is the daughter of Inspector Vikram Rathod. He is on the run from the notorious Chambal dacoits. He hides himself in Hyderabad. But, he gets killed in an encounter.

The petty thief now returns to the Chambal valley and settles the score on behalf of the dead cop. He also manages to kill all the evil men.

The heroine, Anoushka, has nothing to do at all, other than appearing in song sequences.

The problem with masala films is- everybody knows what the ingredients are (comedy + romance + song and dance routines + sentiments + good dialogues + action), but nobody gets the proportions right. Only a very few do. This is one such film.

The film has some excellent action sequences from stunt choreographer Ram Lakshman. Music isn’t something that you are going to remember for a long time. But, the film’s cinematography is good and its comedy is very entertaining.

Movies are meant to entertain. This one does.
