      Sathyabhama          -Sivaji, Bhoomika

Cast- Shivaji, Bhoomika, Chandramohan and others

Music- Chakri

Director- Shrihari Nanu

For some reason, Tollywood is far more evolved than even Bollywood when it comes to lifting stories from Hollywood. Just about every other film that comes out in Tollywood is pretty obviously inspired by a film or two from Hollywood.

The film in question would remind you heavily of 'Fifty First Dates'. This one starred Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. The Telugu inspiration stars Shivaji and Bhoomika.

Shivaji and Bhoomika had acted previously together in the blockbuster 'Missamma'. Shrihari makes his directorial debut with this film.

Shivaji is Krishna, a sand-sculptor. He's trying to popularize this art form and also make some big bucks. So, he goes to Goa with a contract to sculpt sand statues and make them some kind of tourist attraction in the holiday spot.

He runs into a beautiful girl Sathya, played by Bhoomika. She's in a restaurant. The chemistry is instantaneous. She is so impressed by his friendliness that she invites him to join him for breakfast the next day. But when he turns up to meet her, he realizes that she is suffering from acute short-term memory loss, due to an accident that she had. She doesn't have the faintest idea who he is.

But, our man has already fallen in love with her and is ready to do whatever it takes to cure her. He speaks to a number of leading doctors. They say that there's nothing much that could be done about it. He however isn't ready to give up. Then begins a hilarious attempt to figure out a solution for the problem.

Though the concept might be very "foreign" to the Indian audience, it has been very well adapted to suit the nativity factor all the while making the story as believable as possible.

Shivaji has become a specialist of sorts with such "different" roles. He continues to share an excellent chemistry with Bhoomika.

Clean, good entertainer

Plus

Shivaji and Bhoomika chemistry

Good selection of artistes for various roles

Smooth flow of story

Good nativity element

Minus

Overdose of memory-loss subjects?
