      Okkadunadu          -Gopichand

Cast- Gopichand, Neha Jhulka, Mahesh Manjrekar, Nasser, Brahmanandam and others

Director- Chandrashekar Yeleti

Music- MM Kreem

Producer- Cherry

Chandrashekar Yeleti is one of the new brand of directors to watch out for. After coming up with films like 'Aithey' and 'Anukokunda Oka Roju', there sure was lot of curiosity about his new film with Gopichand. The director has delivered it in style!

This time around, the film's plot is something that would make you sit up and take notice- there is no flashback scores to settle with the villain, the hero doesn't fight for justice or any of the other usual lines.

Here's the story-

Mahesh Manjrekar is Sonabhai, a notorious Mumbai don. He has a very serious health problem- a very bad heart. Only a heart replacement surgery could save him. What makes it particularly complicated is that he has a very rare blood group, the 'Bombay Blood group'. He begins a frantic search for someone with that group. Obviously, the donor has to die for the heart to be taken away.

That is when unfortunately, Kiran (played by Gopichand) walks in. His father owned a bank that went bankrupt. Kiran comes to Mumbai to sell his dad's property in the city. He tries to negotiate a sale with the real estate agent Gouthami. Somehow, Sonabhai comes to know that Kiran has his blood group and with that the hunt begins.

Gopichand
  When Kiran comes to know that the most notorious gangster is after him, he too begins his race to save his life. He also has to make sure that the property's sales are carried out properly. The film's story is about how he manages to do them both.

The film's first half is where the entire plot unfolds. Therefore, some kind of slowdown happens in the second half.

The hero doesn't fall in love with the heroine, much to the relief of the story, but somehow, it takes away an element of interest.

If Gopichand has come out with yet another brilliant performance, he faces stiff competition from Mahesh Manjrekar. Romance, which is usually an element of entertainment, is missing this time. But, what is lacking in romance is compensated for sufficiently by the film's comedy track. Brahmanandam has taken excellent care of it.

Newcomer Neha Jhulka could do better in future.

Nasser is convincing. Mahesh Manjrekar is fabulous. Did we say that before too?

Pluses

* Gopichand

* Mahesh Manjrekar

* The novelty in the story

* Gummadi Jayakrishna's cinematography

* Racy narration, which was lost for a while in the second half

Minuses

* Abrupt end

Verdict- Yeleti scores again!
