Cast- Mohan Babu, Vishnu, Parvathy Melton, Shobana and others

Director- Ramprasad

Producer- Mohan Babu

Let’s begin this review with a declaration that the film is the remake of the Bollywood hit ‘Taxi No 9211’ which had Nana Patekar, John Abraham, Sonali Kulkarni and Sameera Reddy in the lead roles. The Telugu version has Mohan Babu, Vishnu, Shobana and Parvathy Melton in the lead roles.

Here’s the story.

Mohan Babu is Pandit Veeraraghav, a taxi driver with an extremely short temper. His short temper makes him impossible for him to continue with any regular 9-5 job. So, he decides to become a taxi driver. But he’s not so comfy about saying this to his wife. Instead, he tells her that he’s a life insurance agent.

Vishnu is Raj, the spoilt son of a very rich deceased father. He has to appear in the court with his dad’s will or else, his dad’s business partner stands to gain control over all his dad’s assets. That would leave him completely broke and literally on the streets. His dad’s will lies securely at a bank locker. Raj wakes up late on the big day thanks to all the late-night partying, and is now in a rush to get to the bank, get the document and go to court.

It is his bad luck that he ends up picking Pandit Veeraraghav’s taxi. Raj urges the driver to go faster and faster. The driver gets into an accident. Raj sneaks away from the scene of crime only to discover that the key to the locker box had fallen down in the taxi of the now very-angry Veeraraghav.

The deranged game begins…

Before the story ends, Raj discovers who his real friends are.

Parvathy Melton is Raj’s gold-digging girlfriend who abandons him when she hears that he has lost his property. Shobana is the sensual and mentally strong wife of Pandit Veeraraghav. She’s the only person on earth whom he’d listen to.

Plus-

• The story is pretty unusual

• Fine pace

• Menacing performances from father and son

• The way the suspense was kept intact until the very end

Minus-

None
