Confusions still prevail about the second heroine of the film starring Rajinikanth in the lead.

First, they planned to bring in Simran for the role. they then decided that her star-tantrums were a bit too much to digest. Rumors are afloat that she was pestering them to give her a duet song with Rajinikanth. But that wouldn't have made sense because she would be playing the role of his friend's wife.

They then gave serious thoughts about casting an actress named Andrea for the role. In her very first film, she had played the role of Sharat Kumar's wife and mother of two kids. For some reason this didnt work either.
 
They have therefore decided to now try Tabu for the role.
