The "larger-than-life" and glamorous Namitha once starred in a Tamil film made by a director-turned-actor who is known for his quirkiness. She was told that her role in the film would be good enough to get her an award for best actress. But it was only when she started to act in the film that she realized that the director intended to show her in unnecessarily glamorous ways.
If that wasn't bad enough, the film flopped at the box office.
She is now returning with renewed vigor to star in glamorous and masala roles.
The other actress is Sneha.
When she was at the peak of her career, she was so adamant about not doing glamorous roles that she used to go out of her way to avoid them. But she is now running the other way when she hears that directors are willing to offer her performance-oriented roles.
She is steadily shifting to glamorous roles but she will have to deal with a very strong image that she had built in the past.
