She was forced to take this decision following an announcement that Yash Chopra had picked up a Bangalore-based Anushka to play the lead role in his new film with Shahrukh Khan. When the news hit the media, everybody thought that the Tollywood Anushka has switched her attention to Bollywood now.
It was another sheer coincidence that both are from Bangalore. After getting some concerned and frantic phone calls, the actress had made this decision to add a Sharma to her name.
