Four films were lined up for release this season- Balakrishna's 'Okka Magadu', Ravitheja's 'Krishna', Sumanth's 'Pourudu' and 'Vaana'. Of these, only 'Vaana' hasn't hit the theatres yet. Then, there is the Telugu version of 'Bheema'.
Of these, much was expected from the NBK starrer 'Okka Magadu', but it has turned out to be a letdown, mainly due to the extreme expectation that the film's promos had created. Many felt that the film was heavily inspired by another film that was released a few years ago.
Sumant's 'Pourudu' is a thorough action-entertainer, but critics complain that the hero doesn't look convincing in his role as an invincible young man!
'Krishna' with its playful humor and Ravitheja in the lead role looks unbeatable this time. Trisha is the heroine and VV Vinayak had directed it. The film's music by Chakri had already become a big hit.
